DIY Mexican Tile Coasters

My DIY Mexican Tile Coasters are a great quick summer project. You can use any combination of Decoart's Americana Acrylics. Top off with a clearcoat (DuraClear or Decopauge) for added protection!

Mustard Seed Hill Christmas Lights

We've had to work hard to find safe ways to get out of the house and celebrate the season. I'm happy to report that it can be done! A great choice is Mustard Seed Hill in Millersburg, KY. We stopped in to see their annual Christmas Lights celebration. Tickets are free but are required to help keep crowds in check. Our family of 4 went on a somewhat warm Friday night. As we walked up, both of our kids (ages 6 and 9) started gasping and really getting excited. It really is a beautiful site to walk upon:

Stenciled Polka-Dot End Table

This little table was so fun to do! I really love how DecoArt's chalky finish paint goes on! If you are looking for a quick project, this is a great choice. Read below for my how-to instructions!

Galaxy Glitter Mail and Candlestick

If you ask my daughter what her favorite color is she'll tell you "all the colors... AND SPARKLE" Lucky for me this project meets her approval. I love this project because it's so great for displaying memories, Christmas cards or just keeping up with your mail! For this project, I used a leftover thrift store frame. You can find something similar at any hobby store or maybe even in a box in your basement!

Cinco de Mayo Planters

I'm so excited it's FINALLY May! I am counting down the days until my kiddos are out of school (29 days left to be exact!)  I love how at the beginning of summer all of us Mom's are so excited to have all this time with our kids but come August and we are frazzled and ready for a break! I know our summers are busy as we spend our days hiking and playing in the pool and that makes it more challenging to work. Some nights I am just too tired! So I'm using these last weeks to get projects done, enjoy some downtime and plan for the summer. If you are looking for a fun (and simple) project to get some creativity in I think you'll love my Cinco de Mayo succulent planters! They are simple, cheery and great for a pop of color on your table or just about anywhere! I grabbed these three planters from Hobby Lobby, but you can get them from any store (be sure to watch for a sale! I got these at 50% off!)
