Pretty Pastel Glass Pumpkin

I love fall! I love the leaves, the smell in the air and how it's finally cool enough to use my oven! I am a traditionalist when it comes to fall colors until this year when I decided to try something new! Pastel colors for fall? Turns out it's super fun!

As you probably know by now, I love thrift shopping! The majority of my art room supplies, kids clothes and a good portion of toys all came from one of our local Goodwill stores! I picked up this glass pumpkin for only $2.59! I recently saw it new at a local store on sale for $12!

Supplies:

  • Glass Pumpkin
  • Decoart Americana Gloss Enamel in Indian Turquoise
  • Decoart Americana Gloss Enamel in Antique Gold
  • Decoart Americana Gloss Enamel in Milk Chocolate
  • Decoart Americana Gloss Enamel in Hauser Dark Green
  • Decoart Americana Gloss Enamel in Hauser Medium Green
  • Decoart Americana Gloss Enamel in Sand
  • Assorted paint brushes

Instructions:

Coat entire pumpkin with Indian Turquoise using a flat brush (I used a #8).  Use the Medium Hauser Green on the stem!

Lightly shade the divets of the pumpkin using Sand and shade the pumpkin stem with the Hauser Dark Green.

Continue to layer shading. In this step, I added Antique Gold and a touch of Milk Chocolate to the divets.

Pair your pumpkin with a lovely fall bouquet, and you have a festive and beautiful fall accent! An optional last step is to bake this according to the paint directions. Baking makes this dishwasher safe which I was not concerned with, but I wanted to make the paint more durable just in case it gets scratched by tiny hands holding hot wheels cars.

Thanks for checking out my latest post!
